Dabung Girl superhero

Can a digital girl superhero inspire children in India towards better learning? In an Indian market filled with male superheroes (Shaktiman, Krishh, Chota Bheem, Mighty Raju etc.), Dabung Girl is a girl superhero that inspires girls to find the hero within and boys to perceive the superhero in girls around them. Dabung Girl is India’s First Girl Superhero for Social Impact and focuses on breaking stereotypes. Superheroes give wings to children’s imaginations and the confidence to take action. The project pilot was done as a comic book with stories covering conversations around gender and environment. However, unlike other superheroes, who come and save the day, she helps children find solutions on their own. The target age group is 6 – 14 years. Dabung Girl Concept has received an excellent response from children and educators and now team is working on creating videos that inspire children to take action towards SDG goals. The team is building Dabung Girl into a powerful educational medium that focuses on breaking gender biases and at the same provide constructive stories, entertainment and fun through digital means.
