Centering Equity at the Heart of instructional Design

The pandemic demanded rapid implementation of virtual teaching and learning while exposing the gaps that exist between traditional models and marginalized or minoritized students. The facilitators of this symposia will examine instructional design practices used to meet the challenge created by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is pivotal that anti-racist teaching and its role in equity-centered ID are also reflected in this context. There will be a discussion that divulges strategies that instructional designers and faculty can implement to reconsider course design, support, and assessment in favor of equity-centered ID practices.
