Algorithmic Rights and Protections for Children

This symposium will facilitate discussion on emerging issues and frameworks for understanding algorithmic rights and protections for children. The organizers have edited a special issue on the topic, which includes an interdisciplinary group of scholars and practitioners exploring children’s engagement with online tools and networks in education, entertainment, and family life. The authors will be invited to submit videos about their contributions for participants to view in advance. The special issue will be published by the time of CLS2021 so the article will also be available online. The symposium will be a facilitated discussion of the topics of the special issue
